Mik's Mini Bat Collection: Wrigley Field 1914-2014

To commemorate going to the 100th Birthday Game at Wrigley Field, Mik got a Wrigley Field 1914-2014 bat for his collection.  It has a ballpark view similar to the Wrigley Field bat he got on the ballpark trip, but it also has the 100 year logo and says Wrigley Field 1914-2014.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: Huntsville Stars

Dad and I choose a navy blue colored mini bat with the Huntsville Stars logo for Mik's Mini Bat Collection when we went to the team's final opening day in Huntsville.  The team shop did not have much overall, but they did have six to eight different colors of mini bats to choose from.  The red one also looked good, but we decided Mik has a lot of red mini bats and not many blue ones.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: Brave Team Signatures

Braves Mini Bat
Before we left for the spring training trip Mik said he was not going to get any mini bats unless they were of the parks or really cool.  Apparently, this one with the signatures of several Braves players was a design he thought qualified as really cool as he just had to have it when he saw it.  It is actually a 2012 Braves mini bat design and his reasoning for getting it was that it has Chipper Jones on it, which is sort of special with him now retired.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: Cashman Stadium

Cashman Field Mini Bat

Dad and I got Mik a Cashman Stadium mini bat for his collection when we went to the Las Vegas 51s game back in June.  This is a field photo style that is similar to a lot of the ballpark ones in his collection.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: Miami Marlins

Miami Marlins Mini Bat

One of the mini bats Mik got when we went to Marlin Park back in May was with the Miami logo.  He mostly has stopped collecting logo bats, since he has most from the ballpark trip, but he wanted this one since the team changed its name to the Miami Marlins when they moved to the new ballpark.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: Target Field

Target Field Mini BatMik was happy to find a Target Field mini bat.  It is the same ballpark image design style that several other ballparks sold, so not exactly unique other than it shows Target Field instead of another field.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: Light Blue Tucson Padres

Mik debated a while before finally settling on the Light Blue Tucson Padres mini bat. He liked the natural one as well, but finally decided on the light blue because it is not a color he has many if any mini bats in. They also had dark blue, pink, and silver. The silver was not bad, but the dark blue was not good, as the logo kind of blended in. The pink is just a continued trend we do not like, as they only make sense when the MLB does it on purpose to sell the bats after Mother's Day to raise money for Breast Cancer and not a regular no donation gear unless somehow a team actually has pink as a team color.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: All Star Game 2011

Mik was happy that they had a mini bat for the All Star Game 2011 when we went to Opening Day 2011. He was afraid he would have to wait until later in the season and we are not exactly planning another Dbacks game this season, especially since we can actually see Triple A baseball in Tucson this year. The mini bat is his favorite color red and he liked the logo, but I am surprised it did not have the Arizona A in the logo like some of the All Star stuff including my ball.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: Tucson Toros

Earlier this month when Dad and I went to the Tucson Toros game, we finally got Mik a Toros mini bat. Last year we were going to get him one, but by the time we got to a Toros game at the end of the season they only had pink ones. He is glad we waited because the red mini bat we got him is way more his style.

Mik's Mini Bat Collection: In His Bat Racks

Last year for Christmas our Grandpa Kjos made Mik mini bat racks for his collection. Dad finally got it up in Mik's room and filled it with the mini bats from the trip. It looks really cool, although the photo is just from Dad's phone.

Mik’s Mini Bat Collection: National Softball Hall of Fame and Museum

At the National Softball Hall of Fame and Museum they had several different colored mini bats, but they all had the same design. Mik went with the darker natural color. The mini bat says National Softball Hall of Fame & Stadium Oklahoma City, OK in gold lettering.

Mik’s Mini Bat Collection: Rangers Ballpark at Arlington

I already posted about Mik getting the natural Texas Rangers mini bat at the Rangers game. After the game we were able to go back to the stand outside the park and finally get him the ballpark one that he wanted all along. This one is natural on the bottom and has a brick background look on the top half. On the brick background is an oval image of Rangers Ballpark. Above the image it says Rangers Ballpark and below the image it says at Arlington.

Mik’s Mini Bat Collection: Natural Texas Rangers

Mik had seen a ballpark bat at a stand outside the ballpark and Dad kept trying to find it inside, but everywhere inside was sold out and he just got Mik this natural Texas Rangers one to make sure he got a mini bat here. We would have got it outside before the game, but they were having problems with the cash register and could not process any sales. This Texas Rangers bat is natural in color and says Texas and also has the Texas Rangers circle logo.

Mik’s Mini Bat Collection: Minute Maid Park

When we got to the Team Shop before the Astros game Mik just wanted to sit and play his game, so he did not even go in to choose his bat. I found the orange one with the Minute Maid Park logo and thought it was cool so I got it for him. Then he complained because it did not have an Astros logo on it. He said he would have preferred the natural one with the Astros logo, but did not care enough to make me go back and get him a second mini bat, which I was entirely willing to do if he had asked and not just whined about the choice I made for him.

Mik’s Mini Bat Collection: Nolan Ryan

At the Nolan Ryan Exhibit Center Mik got what I like to call a medium bat. It is not exactly a mini bat because it is longer than all the others. Even the fat ones (Cincinnati Reds and All the Ballparks Road Trip ones) are the same length as the regular souvenir mini bats. This one however is the normal thickness at the top, but it longer than normal. The reason for it being longer is because it has Nolan Ryan and four stats engraved on it.

The bat has a Nolan Ryan signature engraved in the middle of four accomplishments. The two accomplishments to the left of the signature are 324 Wins and 7 No-Hitters. The two accomplishments to the right are 5,714 Strikeouts and Hall of Fame 1999.

Mik’s Mini Bat Collection: Turner Field

The mini bat Mik choose at the Braves game was one of Turner Field. The bat is natural on the bottom and has a blue background with white tomahawks. On the blue background is an oval image of Turner Field. It also says Turner Field on it.
